A Brief History of Young's

Young's Fine Wines & Spirits, or simply Young's, is now in its seventy fourth year of operation. The store was founded in 1933 at the end of Prohibition by Mr. Young, a pharmacist who during Prohibition, dispensed spirits for strictly medicinal purposes. He rightly stayed in the wine and spirits business after passage of the 21st Amendment.

As the Island's suburbs grew in the post WWII period, Young's business flourished. As tastes changed and wine grew in popularity, Young's changed with the times and began to grow its tremendous wine inventory. Today, Young's boasts having the largest selection of wines and spirits on Long Island. The store offers Nassau and Queens residents the opportunity to shop in a world class wine and spirits "superstore" less than a mile from the famed Americana Manhasset shopping center.

Young's owners and managers travel abroad and out west regularly to find exceptional wines to offer our customers. With tremendous buying power and friendly, knowledgeable owners and staff, Young's provides that rare combination of service, selection, quality and price.
